Han studerade lantm\u00e4teri i Tyskland och blev f\u00e4rdig 1827. Han b\u00f6rjade d\u00e5 arbeta som granskare p\u00e5 stora byggen i Preussen tills han \u00e5r 1841 flyttade till Finland. H\u00e4r blev han chef f\u00f6r intendentkontoret i Helsingfors, en tj\u00e4nst som han \u00f6vertog efter den k\u00e4nda arkitekten C. L. Engel (1778-1840). Han blev sedan chef f\u00f6r \u00d6verstyrelsen f\u00f6r allm\u00e4nna byggnaderna i Finland. Det \u00e4r Lohrmanns f\u00f6rtj\u00e4nst att tj\u00e4nster f\u00f6r l\u00e4nsarkitekter inf\u00f6rdes i Finland och det ledde till att flera k\u00e4nda arkitekter fr\u00e5n Tyskland och Sverige s\u00f6kte sig hit. Det \u00e4r ocks\u00e5 hans f\u00f6rtj\u00e4nst att Kristinestad har ett st\u00e5tligt r\u00e5dhus!<\/p>\n<p>Han stannade p\u00e5 sin tj\u00e4nst i Finland till \u00e5r 1867, d\u00e5 han flyttade till Sverige d\u00e4r han sedan dog \u00e5r 1870.<\/p>\n<p>Under sin aktiva tid i Finland hann Lohrmann planera mer \u00e4n 20 kyrkor, bland annat Ruokolax (1852), Humppila (1852), Enonteki\u00f6 (1858), Ylistaro (1851), Kuhmalahti (1846), Simo (1846), Suomusj\u00e4rvi (1849), Juuka (1851), R\u00e4\u00e4kkyl\u00e4 (1851), Utsjoki (1853), Kestil\u00e4 (1855), Kiikala (1859), Juva (1863), M\u00e4nts\u00e4l\u00e4 (1866), Tuusniemi (1869).
